Utility Organization

  • This is a project that you can literally do in one afternoon.

  • The cabinets are already organized with detergents and household cleaning products.

  • This project is for things I reach for often that I wanted to be able to grab quickly.

  • That is just wasted space above the washer and dryer, so I put it to use starting with a good plan!

Plan

  • I always, always, always start with a plan before I purchase any products for a project!

  • Double check measurements on everything to make sure it’ll all fit together.

  • The mood board gives a visual and helps to make sure everything will be aesthetically pleasing.

Getting Started

  • After everything had been measured and purchased, it was time to get started- the shelf went up first.

  • The categories had already been created in the planning phase, so it was easy to just fill the bins and add labels.

Installation Phase

  • I created the following labels for the categories: Socks, Laundry Bags, Cleaning Rags, Swiffer Dusters, & Vacuum Attachments. (The sock bin is for those random socks that lose their match in the laundry.)

  • I loaded up all the bins, slap a label on, and done!

  • We have used this system for about 9 months and it still works as well as the day I made it!

  • The labels make it super easy for the rest of the family to help maintain the space! I’ll say it again….labels are life!!!

Products used for this project:

  • White shelf: Amazon (Measure your space and get the approprietly sized shelf.)

  • Canvas bins: Amazon (Again, you might need a different number of bins based on the size of your space.)

  • Labels: Target
