Laundry Room Organization

• Laundry…definitely not a fun chore, but with a well organized space it makes it a little easier (and faster) to get done!

• If there isn’t a good system in place, laundry rooms can become a catch all for junk, and lots of old, unused cleaning products.

•Get it cleaned out, sorted into categories, install systems, and slap some labels on it! Keep scrolling….you’ll see.

  • Clean it out! Everything!

  • Trash the old and only keep what you will use.

  • Line the shelves with shelf liner or contact paper if it’s needed..

  • Sort the items you are keeping into like categories.

  • Measure the space.

  • Purchase products that, when installed together, will fit within the measurements of your space. This is the tricky part…I always refer to this step as “the game of Tetris”.

  • When you are planing for product, make sure to think about vertical space and how it can be used.

  • Label, label, label!!!!

  • After everything is tucked away in its home, slap a label on it! You and your family are much, much more likely to keep everything organized if it is labeled! I can’t stress this enough!

  • A cleaning caddy is a great thing to keep on hand with your most used supplies.

  • Carry it all over the house while you clean and you should have just about everything you need without making multiple trips back to the cabinet.

  • Avoid using lots of mismatched containers and products. Use products that coordinate well together, and give a cohesive look.

  • Make it look beautiful, not just organized. This will help you keep it organized! Who wants to ruin a beautiful space?!

  • I love The Container Store, and that’s typically where I get most, or all, products I use for projects.

  • However, there isn’t a Container store close to us and I was in a pinch so everything used in these photos came from good ole Target. Lol- my other favorite store.
