Entryway Decor Refresh
It was time for a refresh….for many reasons!
1. The entryway sets the tone for the rest of the house.
2. The items & colors in the original entry did not coordinate well with the spaces around it.
3. I had just grown tired of looking at the old & needed to bring in some new.
I went back and forth on the door color, but finally settled on Sherwin William Black Magic.
The two main accessory colors are gold and black.
I felt like the gold light fixture tipped the scales a bit, and I needed more black. Nothing a coat of paint can’t fix!
I love how so many elements came together here to give the look and function I was wanting.
The top pictures are from our honeymoon, the silhouette cutouts are of our kids, the quirky bird picture looks exactly like a pet bird my aunt had when we were kids that we loved, the books are two of my favorites, and the vintage bowl holds my mail when I’m in a hurry and need a place to plop it quickly.
The wallpaper makes a subtle accent wall, and gives some texture to the space.
And this light…perhaps my favorite find for the entire space!
My home is pretty traditional, so I wanted something that would add some modern freshness without looking out of place.
Also, you wanna talk about budget lighting?! This is it! This isn’t our forever home, although, I don’t know that we’ll ever find a place to confidently call our “forever home”, so I didn’t want to spend a ton on lighting for this space. Mission accomplished!
I’m not completely in love with the style of the entry table, but I need something that will hold all of our photo albums and this is the best option for now.
So, I slapped on a couple of coats of paint in a green shade I love. The pictures make it look Kelly Green, but it isn’t. In real life it is a much darker, deeper green- very pretty!
A sweet little spot for guests to hang coats, bags, umbrellas, etc.
The rug anchored the space and pulled everything together giving the space a cohesive look.

I have sourced as many items as I can from the entryway. They are all linked with pricing.
