A Winter to Spring Transition

When the chill in the air becomes just a tad warmer and those green tree blooms and wildflowers start to pop, spring is on its way! Bring nature’s freshness and joy into your home with a quick and simple decor refresh!

  • There are two goals I’m looking to help you achieve during this decor transition

    • Make sure your pieces have the feeling of spring and life.

    • Spring elements coordinate with your current color pallet.

  • Using a neutral color palette with pops of green and blue keeps that natural look without getting too bright or wild.

  • Don’t forget to think about texture! Bring in the natural feels with materials like jute, rattan and wicker. These will help create that fresh and light feel.

  • Bring life to your space with botanical accents. Think more along the lines of plants to bring in that green element and not too many pops of bright colors. My favorites for spring are ferns, topiaries, and moss.

  • Birds are another good option to keep with the natural theme when choosing decor elements.

  • Accent throw pillows and blankets are an effortless way to change the look of your decor while bringing in a light and cozy feel. If you’re wanting to add just a small pop of color, this is the perfect way to do it that won’t overwhelm the room or break the bank!

  • Something I like to use all year round as a versatile design element are book stacks. The key to keeping this staple piece exciting is switching the books out a few times a year based on colors of the season. I like them if they have a gently used look, not tattered and on their last leg, but also not brand new. Bonus if the books are on a topic you or your family members are interested in!

  • If your more permanent decor like wall color, floors, and large furniture are in a darker/moodier color, try adding in spring elements in a brass tone and more neutral colored botanical elements to properly complement each other. The goal is to lighten the space without changing out the big ticket items.

Happy Spring!!
