How to Digitally Declutter

We talk a lot about the physical things in your home being organized, but what about all of those files, emails, and digital photos? I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time behind the computer! Clearing the clutter in this space will help with your work day, family business, and personal life. Here are some of my top tips to get your digital space organized.

1. Clean up email inbox.

  • Unsubscribe from as many as possible.

  • Delete old/unnecessary emails.

  • Make folders and file away any emails worth keeping.

2. Organize photos and files in folders on device.

  • Make folder structure well organized with meaningful names for folders and subfolders to make it easier to locate and retrieve files later.

  • Remember to back up and sync regularly!

3. Organize apps on device.

  • Delete any unused apps.

  • Create "folders" by category and store apps with similar categories in the folders. Don't forget to name the folder/category.
